My Seven Favorite Rap Voices of All Time (Pt. 2)
(As you probably guessed from the title, this is the second part of my series discussing my seven favorite rap voices in the history of rap voices. If you missed the first part, here’s a link.)
Method Man

“Cash rules everything around me,
C.R.E.A.M. get the money, dollar dollar bills y’all”
“C.R.E.A.M.” from the Wu-Tang Clan’s 1993 debut Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers)
Method Man’s gruff delivery is so distinctive, even the way he inhales sounds unique. Seriously, go listen to some of his early work like “Method Man” or the chorus to “C.R.E.A.M.” (right after the “get the money” and before the “dollar dollar bill” part) — he sounds like he’s wearing a retainer he stole from some other kid before shoving him in a locker.
With that being said, wearing someone else’s retainer certainly doesn’t sound all that cool on paper (there’s two possibilities here, either: 1. Your teeth require alignment correction and you don’t have access to a dental specialist of your own, or 2. you have both a larceny problem and an oral hygiene problem. Neither of those are especially great)…
